Ontario Chapter
The Ontario Chapter of CAAT
A second provincial chapter of CAAT was started in Ontario in January of 2007 by two Registered Veterinary Technicians from Cambridge, Ontario – Annette Pecak and Christine Robinson. Chris and Annette began their volunteer “career” in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina providing disaster relief services. Since that time, Chris and/or Annette have organized and/or been on the team for clinics in Belize, disaster relief in Peru and three animal wellness clinics in Nunavut.
In 2009, Chris was elected to the position of Executive Director of CAAT and Annette became the President of the Board of Directors. They have both taken on many extra responsibilities and continue to run the Ontario Chapter. The Ontario Chapter Membership has grown very rapidly over the past few years and continues to grow. We encourage our Ontario members to be involved in our Ontario fundraisers to help CAAT reach communities in need.
CAAT Ontario has also become involved with the PAWS (Provincial Animal Welfare Volunteers Program) to ensure that CAAT remains on the forefront of disaster relief work when needed. Any Ontario members interested in being involved in disaster relief work are urged to register to be on the roster of the PAWS through contacting Connie Mallory at the OSPCA at cmallory@ospca.on.ca. Please let her know you are a CAAT member!
