CAAT Goes Big in BC

WHO?           About 32 CAAT team members – a veritable pack of animal lovers.

WHAT?         Animal health care clinics for spaying, neutering, vaccinations, wellness exams. Plus education for kids.

WHEN?         Starts this weekend!

WHERE?       British Columbia: Clayoquot * Burns Lake * Fort St. James

A CAAT team will make its third visit to Clayoquot on Vancouver Island to work with the Tlai-o-qui-aht First Nations (composed of three communities – Ty-hystannis, Esowista and Opitsaht). In cooperation with the Coastal Animal Rescue and Education Network of Tofino, CAAT will run a two-day clinic and provide educational programs.

The Chief of Lake Babine Nation has asked CAAT to return to Burns Lake this year. As the community works to establish local population management programs, they would like CAAT to help them maintain the level of population control achieved during our four years of work there and avoid losing ground as they ramp up their programs. This year’s clinic will run for three days.

Last year was CAAT’s second time holding a clinic in Fort St. James. We look forward to building on the last two year’s foundation with another three-day clinic following our stay in Burns Lake.

Check back here to follow news from the projects as we reconnect with these communities and meet new four-footed friends.
